VXP, a locally based developer, is pushing forward with plans for what could be the tallest resort in Las Vegas. The project, located at 2601 South Las Vegas Boulevard, would feature a 752-foot-tall hotel and condominium complex paired with an 18,000-seat stadium. The site, once home to Wet 'n Wild waterpark, will be transformed into a 17-acre development including three towers, a 6,000-seat theater, and a state-of-the-art arena.
The futuristic design, created by Steelman Partners, would include a casino, shops, restaurants, and amenities like a swimming pool, spa, and health club. The project's sleek exterior will be partially clad in gold and silver glass with LED lighting. LVXP aims to prioritize sustainable development and green initiatives, but the potential hotel operator, cost, and timeline for completion remain undisclosed.
The resort could potentially host an NBA basketball team, capitalizing on Las Vegas' status as a top candidate for an expansion franchise. The project will be discussed at a local advisory board meeting on November 12. LVXP's plans come after former NBA player Jackie Robinson's All Net Resort & Arena proposal was rejected by the Clark County Commission last fall.
