T
he Leander Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center's 2024 Real Estate Summit showcased the city's commercial growth prospects. The event featured speakers, including Mayor Christine DeLisle, and a bus tour highlighting new business developments and road projects. According to Bridget Brandt, president of the chamber, this year's summit marked a shift towards exclusively focusing on commercial development.
Brandt noted that commercial growth benefits Leander by increasing its tax base, enabling more park creation and reducing residents' tax burden. She emphasized that commercial expansion has a significant impact, citing its numerous advantages. In addition to boosting local amenities, it also provides more dining and shopping options for residents.
As the area experiences growth, Williamson County is planning long-term transportation solutions to accommodate an expected population of three to four million residents. Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long attributed this plan to voter-approved bonds, which will support the county's infrastructure development.
