iana Ross, the legendary singer and former lead singer of the Supremes, has rented her Miami waterfront home on San Marco Island for $95,000 a month. The six-month rental agreement was facilitated by Tanya Vanterpool of Macken Realty, who represented Ross, and Dean Bloch of Douglas Elliman, who represented the tenant but declined to disclose their identity.
Ross purchased the 4,900-square-foot Venetian Islands home in 2022 for $15.6 million and spent an additional $1.2 million on upgrades, working with interior designer Carlos Rodriguez. The property features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pool, and 60 feet of waterfront. It's also listed for sale at $17.9 million through Vanterpool.
The rental price is among the many pricey rentals in South Florida, where luxury properties are commanding high monthly rates. A penthouse in Faena House is renting for $135,000 a month, while a 3,800-square-foot condo in the Four Seasons Residences at the Surf Club rented for the same amount. In Miami Beach, some luxury single-family homes have asked as much as $350,000 per month in rent.
The trend of pricey rentals is not limited to South Florida, with many opting out of homeownership due to concerns over insurance and property taxes.
