ily Allen and “Stranger Things” star David Harbour have listed their Carroll Gardens townhouse for almost $8 million, a price that more than doubles the $3.35 million they paid in early 2021. The sale follows the release of Allen’s new “revenge” album, which many fans link to the couple’s split last year and rumors of an affair involving Harbour, according to the Sun. In the track “West End Girl,” Allen references the home directly, describing how she was forced to move in.
The four‑story, 22‑foot‑wide brownstone sits on one of Brooklyn’s most sought‑after tree‑lined blocks. It was redesigned by AD100 designer Billy Cotton and architect Ben Bischoff of MADE, blending traditional English charm with modern Brooklyn sensibilities and rich Italian influences. The listing estimates a monthly mortgage payment of $43,519 on a $1.59 million down payment at a 6.8 % interest rate over 30 years.
Inside, the parlor level opens to a spacious living room adorned with Zuber wallpaper, crown moldings, and a fireplace that leads through glass doors to a private backyard featuring a sauna and cold plunge. The kitchen boasts Plain English cabinetry, an Ann Sacks backsplash, an Officine Gullo range, and a custom banquette beneath large windows that flood the space with natural light. Jewel tones and patterned accents run throughout the home, including a standalone tub.
The entire second floor houses the primary suite, complete with a fireplace, dual walk‑in closets, and Pierre Frey carpeting. Two additional guest bedrooms, a skylit lounge, and a home office occupy the upper level, bringing the total to five bedrooms and four baths. The garden level offers another guest suite, a powder room, and a casual sitting area with built‑ins that opens onto the yard. A fully finished basement contains a gym, laundry, and storage.
City records show the property was bought under two separate trusts and financed with a $2.5 million mortgage from City National Bank. Between 2021 and 2023, the couple filed several renovation permits, including general construction projects valued at $282,600 and $265,600. Their redesign debuted in Architectural Digest in early 2023.
Allen has since returned to London with her two daughters from a previous marriage. Neighbors report the house has appeared vacant in recent months, noting that while other homes on the block display Halloween decorations, Lily and David’s do not. One resident said, “It looks like no one has been home for quite some time,” adding that the neighborhood is very family‑friendly and that Lily was once very active in the community.
The townhouse is just steps from Carroll Park and the boutiques of Court and Smith streets. Carl Gambino of Compass holds the listing, though he declined to comment. Meanwhile, Harbour owned a second residence in Manhattan’s West Village, a location Allen alluded to in her album as the site of a rumored affair with costume designer Natalie Tippett, who met Harbour during a 2021 film shoot in New Orleans.
Since the album’s release, Allen’s following has grown by nearly 40,000, while Harbour’s has dropped by about 26,000.
