Lionel Messi Reveals Extensive Real Estate Holdings

Lionel Messi's late-career success on the pitch is mirrored in his growing real estate investments.

L
ionel Messi's business savvy has been on full display throughout his career, with hundreds of millions earned through sponsorship deals and shrewd contract negotiations. His most recent deal secured him $60 million annually from Inter Miami CF. As the calendar turned to 2025, Messi made another strategic move by listing his real estate properties on the Spanish digital-only Portfolio Stock Exchange under the company name "Edificio Rostower Socimi." The portfolio, consisting of seven hotels, houses, and commercial properties, is valued at $232 million as a real estate investment trust (REIT). Shares in the REIT were trading at around $60 each.

As one of the world's top soccer players, Messi has lived in Spain for most of his career, joining FC Barcelona's youth team at 12 and playing professionally for 17 years. In Spain, REITs offer valuable tax breaks, which may have contributed to Messi's decision to list his portfolio. Despite posting losses in previous years, the valuation remains strong.

Messi has also invested in real estate outside of Spain, purchasing a $10.8 million waterfront mansion in South Florida last year and owning at least four properties across the state. With his on-field performance still strong, he's setting himself up for a lucrative post-playing career.
