Local Realtors Share Expertise in High School Real Estate Class

he William Floyd High School "Real Estate Reality" class recently hosted three industry professionals who shared their experiences and insights with students. The half-credit course, taught by business teacher and licensed realtor Lee Cillo, provides juniors and seniors with a comprehensive overview of the real estate industry.

    Guest speakers Stephanie Salvo from Shine Realty and Theresa Wright from Nationwide Mortgage brought valuable perspectives to the class. Salvo's personal story about balancing work and family life resonated with students, highlighting the flexibility that comes with a career in real estate. The speakers' candid answers encouraged students to ask questions and engage with the material.

    The event underscored the school's commitment to providing practical experience and guidance for students exploring their future careers. As one student noted, "I felt the guest speakers were very informative as they opened my eyes to a pathway I had not considered." The business department chairperson, Jackie Giacalone, expressed gratitude for the professionals' willingness to share their expertise and experiences.
