ctor Bill Murray's former estate in Snedens Landing, a secluded celebrity enclave in Rockland County, New York, has hit the market for $3.69 million. The property, known as "The Yellow House," was built by Murray and his ex-wife Mickey in the 1980s on the site of a 19th-century barn.
Snedens Landing, with its 100 homes, is often referred to as "Hollywood on the Hudson" due to its popularity among celebrities. The sellers are acclaimed artists Sean Scully and Liliane Tomasko, who purchased the home from actress Didi Conn and her husband David Shire in 2021.
The Colonial-style residence features a winding drive, five bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, and 5,177 square feet of living space on 3.92 acres. The property includes a free-standing two-car garage with an office/studio above and a separate, buildable tax lot.
Inside, the home boasts a grand living room with 15-foot-high ceilings, a woodburning fireplace, and a formal dining room. A large chef's kitchen features an original 19th-century fireplace, while a laundry room and guest/staff bedroom are located off the kitchen. The main floor also includes a primary bedroom suite.
The current owners have renovated the property in recent years, incorporating elements of the original structure into the design. The sale includes access to a wraparound porch, a large lawn, and a treehouse. Marjorie Galen of Sotheby's International Realty is handling the listing.
