T
he top home under contract in Los Angeles County last week was a $23.5 million estate on Hidden Ridge Road in Hidden Hills, according to the Eklund Weekly Luxury Report Los Angeles. The property, listed by Douglas Elliman's Marc Shevin and Hanna Shevin, boasts over 15,000 square feet of living space, six bedrooms, and ten bathrooms. It features a wine cellar, theater, gym, game room, elevator, and 10-car garage, as well as a camera recording system, touchpad security, and safe room within a gated community.
The home's owner is Richard Gonzalez, chair of Chicago-based drugmaker AbbVie, who purchased the property in 2016 for $14.6 million. The Eklund Weekly Luxury Report rounds up homes and condos listed at $4 million or more in the MLS.
Coming in second was a Mediterranean-style residence on North Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills Flats, listed by Engel & Voelkers' Jaime Geffen for $12.4 million. This five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home has been on the market since mid-September and features an en-suite master bedroom, pool, spa, and BBQ area.
Across L.A. County, 17 homes went into contract last week, totaling $123.6 million in asking dollar volume. The average days on market was 100, but Eklund Gomes California Managing Director Marcy Roth noted that two properties skewed the average, with triple-digit days on market. However, nine of the contracted homes averaged just 25 days on market, suggesting a more robust pace when priced correctly.
