NoMad penthouse at 277 Fifth Avenue has finally sold after over six years on the market. The unit, which initially asked $23 million in 2017, landed an inked deal last week with an asking price of $20 million, according to Olshan Realty's weekly report. This sale was one of 25 Manhattan homes that entered contract between January 6 and 12, with a combined asking price of $219 million.
The penthouse, which spans 4,500 square feet, features four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a loggia, and 360-degree views of Manhattan. Amenities in the building include an entertainment lounge, fitness center, and landscaped terrace. The property was listed by Nikki Field and Mara Flash Blum of Sotheby's International after being previously marketed by Serhant.
The sale marks a significant increase from the previous period, which saw only 20 deals signed. The total number of high-end sales in Manhattan has been slow due to a glut of new development condos. However, developers Victor Group and Lendlease have seen success with their tower's penthouses, including this latest sale.
Another notable sale was an Upper East Side townhouse asking $17.5 million, which featured as Kendall Roy's home in the first season of HBO's "Succession." The 8,000-square-foot property has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a garden, and a two-story addition with a gym. It spent nearly 900 days on the market before selling at a 10% discount from its original listing price.
