Luxury Real Estate Empire Teeters on Brink After Stunning Decision

Top real estate group starts chaotic year amid surprise leadership shakeup and leaked video controversy.

A
tumultuous year for Las Vegas Realtors came to a head this week when two of its presidents abruptly resigned on the same day. Merri Perry, the outgoing president, and Joshua Campa, who succeeded her as president in 2025, both stepped down after a year marked by allegations, suspensions, and controversies. The drama began in March with a physical altercation between two real estate agents at a board meeting, which led to police intervention.

The association's troubles intensified in August when over 50 real estate agents demanded an independent investigation into alleged election interference during the voting for vice president. Britney Gaitan, who was campaigning against Stephanie Grant, spoke out as a whistleblower after suspecting that several leaders and CEO Wendy DiVecchio may have manipulated the results.

The Board of Directors hired a third-party investigator, which led to a 30-day suspension for DiVecchio and several board members' resignations in protest. However, no report has been made public yet. In November, several members filed formal complaints with Nevada's attorney general, Aaron Ford, asking him to further investigate the leadership style and election tampering allegations.

In a bombshell video released on YouTube, George Kypreos, who will replace Campa as president in 2025, apologized for the association's failures and acknowledged that it had fallen short of its promise to protect its members' collective reputation. He vowed to shut down the "side show" of scandals and distractions, promising a new era of transparency and professionalism.

Campa shared a detailed Facebook post explaining his resignation, citing the toxic environment, personal agendas, and blackmail threats as reasons for his departure. He encouraged others to stand up against such behavior and praised Kypreos as a solid neutral leader who deserves public support.
