ark Willis is stepping down as CEO and president of Keller Williams after 14 months, but not leaving the company. He's taking on a new role as Chief Leadership Officer, where he'll focus on teaching and developing leaders within KW. This change was announced in an internal email by Co-Founder Gary Keller.
Willis expressed his excitement about this new challenge, saying it's "the honor of my lifetime" to serve as CEO twice for KW. He looks forward to helping leaders grow and achieve their highest potential in his new role. The Chief Leadership Officer position aligns with Willis' priorities on training and education, which he emphasized during the recent industry changes.
Willis has had a significant impact on Keller Williams over the past 14 months. His second stint as CEO was relatively short, lasting from November 2023 to now. He previously served as president from 2002 to 2005 and CEO from 2005 to 2014. In March 2024, he added back the title of president following Marc King's departure.
As Willis transitions into his new role, Stacie Herron will serve as interim chief operating officer in an expanded capacity. John Keller, vice chairman, will continue to oversee the leadership team while a new CEO is sought.
