Metals executive purchases Jupiter's Bear's Club estate for $18 million

Daniel Rifkin, metals executive and investor, buys $17.7M Jupiter mansion in off-market deal.

D
aniel Rifkin, managing partner of North River Capital and president/CEO of MetalX LLC, purchased a Bear's Club mansion in Jupiter for $17.7 million in an off-market deal. The 8,700-square-foot home at 232 Bear's Club Drive was previously owned by David Cohen and Jodee Seiders, who bought it for $6 million in 2014. Cohen is also a financier and co-founder of Iridian Asset Management.

The property has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, and a pool, built on 1 acre in 2010. The couple listed the mansion for $19 million in April but delisted it in July. Rifkin's purchase price represents a near tripling of the home's value over the decade Cohen and Seiders owned it.

The Bear's Club is a gated golf community in Jupiter, attracting luxury buyers and high-profile residents. Recent sales in the area include a $13.4 million sale by heirs to the Johnson & Johnson fortune in June, Michael Jordan's purchase of a second mansion for $16.5 million in April, and Planet Fitness co-founder Michael Grondahl's sale of a mansion for $14.5 million in October last year.
