Miami-Dade judge has set a new hearing date for identical twin brothers Oren and Alon Alexander, who are facing $5 million bond in connection with sexual assault charges. The 37-year-old brothers, prominent luxury real estate brokers, did not attend Monday's hearing.
Their bond was previously reduced to $3 million for Oren and $2 million for Alon, but they were ordered held pending a federal hearing. Judge Lody Jean advised defense attorneys to wait for the outcome of their federal case before posting bail in the state case.
The brothers' real estate firm, Official, has been at the center of attention since allegations against them surfaced months ago. They co-founded the company with another brother, Tal Alexander, who is also charged in a sex trafficking scheme. Federal prosecutors allege that all three brothers worked together to "repeatedly and violently drug, sexually assault, and rape dozens of victims" between 2010 and 2021.
Tal Alexander was denied bail last Friday after being held without bond in federal court. The Miami-Dade charges involve specific incidents against known victims, while the New York indictment alleges a broader scheme involving deception, fraud, and coercion to entice victims into traveling with them or attending parties.
Prosecutors say the brothers used their wealth and influence to take advantage of victims, often providing drugs and promising romantic relationships. In one Miami-Dade case, a woman was allegedly gang-raped at Alon Alexander's apartment in 2016 after being invited to a barbecue. Another incident involved Oren Alexander sexually assaulting a woman at his apartment in 2017 after she reported feeling weak and unable to control her body after drinking a glass of wine.
