ichael Jordan has finally sold his massive Highland Park mansion after more than 12 years on the market. The NBA Hall of Famer and former Chicago Bulls star accepted $9.5 million for the estate, significantly below its original asking price of $14.855 million.
The buyer's identity remains unknown, as they did not work with a real estate agent. Jordan had held onto his initial asking price for nearly nine years, despite multiple price reductions. The mansion was first listed in 2012 for $29 million and underwent several price cuts before the final sale.
Jordan's listing agent, Katherine Malkin, declined to comment on the sale. The Lake County Assessor valued the property at $4.94 million, which could lead to a significant increase in property taxes once the new owner takes over.
The 1995-built mansion features an impressive array of amenities, including 15 full bathrooms, a basketball gymnasium, and a cigar room. However, its total square footage is disputed, with Malkin citing 56,000 square feet and the assessor counting it at 32,683 square feet.
Jordan owns several other properties, including a $17 million mansion in Jupiter, Florida, and a $5.3 million estate also in Jupiter. He has additional homes in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cornelius, North Carolina.
