Miley Cyrus recalls 2018 Malibu wildfire that ravaged her $2.52 million home as a transformative experience

Miley Cyrus reflects on the devastating fire that destroyed her home.

M
iley Cyrus has reflected on the devastating 2018 Woolsey Fire that destroyed her Malibu compound, just weeks before she married Liam Hemsworth. The pop star now views the tragedy as a turning point in her life.

Cyrus's four-bedroom, 2-acre estate was not only her home but also housed Rainbowland, where she recorded her first album in 2005. Losing everything allowed her to rebuild with intention and reevaluate her relationships and priorities.

The fire brought more than physical loss; it also led to the end of some toxic relationships. Cyrus has spoken about how this experience taught her to be grateful for what truly matters. She recalled receiving news of the fire while filming "Black Mirror" in South Africa, where she was portraying a pop star strapped to a gurney.

Despite the chaos, Cyrus continued working on set the next day, remarking, "The show must go on." Now, she's preparing to release her ninth studio album, "Something Beautiful," accompanied by a visual film premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival. The album is a reflection of her growth and newfound appreciation for life.

Cyrus has since moved on from Hemsworth, who is now dating Australian model Gabriella Brooks. She's currently dating drummer Maxx Morando, one of the producers of "Something Beautiful." Looking back, Cyrus advises her younger self to embrace difficult times, saying they are only leading to greater light and understanding.
