A
secretive buyer has snapped up a record-breaking $105 million plot of land on Miami's Indian Creek Island, just next door to Jeff Bezos' properties. The seller, German developer Mikhail Peleg, made a tidy profit from the sale after purchasing the 2-acre parcel in 2018 for $27.5 million.
Peleg had initially planned to build on the property but scrapped those plans due to unknown reasons. He had high hopes for the island when he bought it seven years ago and believed in its long-term potential. The buyer, who paid cash, remains anonymous.
The plot boasts stunning views of downtown Miami and space for a deep-water megayacht to dock. Indian Creek Island is known for its exclusivity, with only 41 homes occupied by wealthy residents like Tom Brady and Jared Kushner. Access to the island is heavily restricted, with its own police force and marine patrol.
Peleg's sale beats out Jeff Bezos' previous record on the island, which was set last year when he purchased a home for $87 million. The final sales price of $105 million falls just short of Miami's most expensive home sale but sets a new record for Indian Creek Island.
