C
onstruction is nearing completion on the new Charming Paws location in Grafton, WI. Owner Ashley Lyneis acquired the building at 2089 Wisconsin Avenue in January 2025 and expects to open by Spring Break.
The new facility will focus primarily on doggy daycare due to its expansive outdoor area, ideal for play and exercise. In contrast, the current location at 1754 Wisconsin Avenue will be used for boarding. The new site boasts 6,000 square feet, offering ample space for future expansion.
Lyneis attributes her success to building strong relationships within the communities she serves. She emphasizes that the expansion is about helping those communities, rather than just increasing profits. Her loyal staff, many of whom have been with her since the beginning, are key to the company's success.
The new Grafton location will be a significant upgrade compared to their existing smaller yard and is close to Lyneis's family in Grafton. Charming Paws has experienced impressive growth over the past few years, with locations in West Bend, Richfield, and Cedarburg. The company plans to operate both locations during peak times, like Spring Break, to meet growing demand.
Lyneis is considering building an addition to the new location if the existing tenant decides not to renew their lease. She also plans to use the current location for boarding, which will be a change from its previous focus on doggy daycare. The decision to move was partly driven by the knowledge that their current site was likely to be redeveloped.
The Village of Grafton has reviewed and considered a request by Ashley Lyneis for a conditional use permit for dog daycare, grooming, and boarding at 2089 Wisconsin Avenue.
