onathan Benton, a New Hampshire real estate agent, is using an unconventional approach to market his latest listing - a T-Rex baking cookies in the kitchen and playing baseball in the driveway. The $590,000 property has gone viral online, with buyers doing a double-take at the unusual images.
Benton enlisted the help of local mortgage broker Alex Newell to wear a T-Rex costume for the listing photos. He used this tactic previously to generate attention for another home in Nashua, which sold for $315,000 after buyer interest surged following the posting of inflatable T-Rex images.
For his current listing in Londonderry, Benton wanted to create more online buzz and get "more eyes on" the property. He chose a T-Rex because it's recognizable, non-polarizing, and imposing yet non-threatening. The listing description pokes fun at the images, highlighting the property's features with dinosaur-themed language.
The approach has generated media attention worldwide, including publications in Australia, as well as interest from buyers and real estate agents across New England. Benton believes that "silly sells" and that a bit of fun can go a long way in marketing properties.
