New Season of NAR's 'First-Time Buyer' Series Now Available

Rookie homebuyers navigate complex transactions with the guidance of REALTORS.

B
uying a home can be a daunting experience, especially for first-time buyers. According to past surveys, purchasing a home is more stressful than dating, getting into college, or even going through a divorce. With record-high prices and housing shortages in many markets, it's no wonder buyers are feeling anxious.

The National Association of REALTORS' docuseries "First-Time Buyer" returns for its fifth season with eight new episodes on Hulu and at firsttimebuyer.realtor. The show follows rookie home shoppers as they navigate the challenges of bidding wars, bad home inspection reports, financing issues, and more. Guided by experienced agents who are REALTORS, these buyers learn to overcome obstacles and achieve their dream of homeownership.

The fifth season features transactions in New York and Connecticut, showcasing diverse stories such as a family searching for a multigenerational home and a young couple seeking a lucrative rental property. The series also highlights an international buyer making the leap to homeownership to be closer to family in the States. "This season's stories are driven by real-life questions and issues that buyers face," says Mabél Guzmán, chair of NAR's Consumer Communications Committee.
