exas Health Resources, a faith-based nonprofit healthcare system, has acquired 21 acres of land in Celina for potential future development. The Arlington-based company purchased two tracts of land at the northwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and the Collin County Outer Loop from Tollway Celina 45 Partners. While representatives for Texas Health Resources say plans for the site have not been solidified, REX Real Estate, which represented the seller, claims it will become a hospital or health campus.
This acquisition could mark the fourth hospital site in Celina purchased by North Texas healthcare providers. The company's spokesperson, Kimberly Walton, stated that they routinely purchase land as part of their normal business operations to accommodate growing communities. Celina has experienced rapid population growth, with a 26.6% increase between July 2022 and July 2023, more than 53 times the national growth rate.
Texas Health Resources serves over 7 million people across 16 counties in North Texas. The company is also developing a new hospital in Forney, which will create up to 1,000 jobs upon completion.
