RP Group, a developer based in Ohio, is planning to build a $91.6 million affordable apartment complex on San Antonio's East Side. The Lakeside Lofts project will comprise 336 units, with construction costs estimated at $272,600 per unit. The development will span 19 acres near the intersection of Loop 410 and Rigsby Avenue.

    The project aims to cater to residents with varying income levels, offering a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments. Ninety-five units will be reserved for tenants earning 70 percent of the area median income, while 207 units will target those at 60 percent AMI, and 34 units will be allocated for individuals qualifying at 30 percent AMI.

    If approved by the San Antonio City Council, NRP Group plans to apply for 4 percent low-income housing tax credits to finance the project. The company is also involved in several other major projects around the city, including a market-rate apartment complex near Brooks and "Project Yeager," a $78 million development combining multifamily housing and retail space.

    NRP Group has been expanding its presence throughout Texas, with over 4,000 market-rate units in its pipeline. The firm is also partnering with local authorities on several projects, including the Preakness Apartments, a workforce housing development planned for Southeast Austin.
