lexander Zweig, a seasoned entrepreneur and collector, has found a buyer for his $9 million Tribeca loft. The all-cash deal is set to close on Wednesday, just one day after the property was listed. The 62 Beach St. penthouse boasts an impressive 3,350 square feet of living space, featuring two bedrooms, 2½ bathrooms, and an open layout with exposed brick and beamed ceilings.
Zweig's extensive memorabilia collection is a highlight of the property, showcasing items like Charlie Sheen's "Platoon" helmet, Clint Eastwood's "Dirty Harry" gun, and Arnold Schwarzenegger's shotgun from "Terminator 2: Judgment Day." The collection also includes sports memorabilia, art, photography, vintage typewriters, rare books, and more. However, the sale does not include any of these items.
The loft was purchased by Zweig in two parts – 6B in 2012 for $2.89 million and 6C in 2013 for $3 million – before being renovated over six years to combine the units into a single, stunning space. The renovation was led by DHD Architecture & Interior Design's Jill Diamant and Emilee Pearson.
The property's unique features include a gracious foyer, an open chef's kitchen with breakfast bar, and a hidden home office with built-in storage. The residence also boasts three exposures, a pocket door that opens to a windowed home office, and 20 windows facing south and west for breathtaking sunset views over the Hudson River.
As a nod to his late father Martin Zweig, an investor who predicted the 1987 stock market crash, Alexander has inherited a passion for collecting. The elder Zweig's impressive collection, including Marilyn Monroe's "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" dress, was left to Alexander and his family upon his passing in 2013.
The Fischer Mills Building, where the loft is located, dates back to 1860 and offers full-service condo living. With its stunning design details and unparalleled memorabilia collection, this Tribeca penthouse is a true gem that will be missed by many.
