N
ykia Wright, CEO of the National Association of REALTORS®, expressed optimism that the current challenges facing the industry are nearing an end. Speaking at RISMedia's CEO & Leadership Exchange in Washington, D.C., Wright emphasized the importance of moving forward and repairing relationships with brokers through face-to-face meetings and travel across the country.
Wright has been working to regain trust among NAR members and shared a story about Warren Buffett's approach to leadership, highlighting the need for professionalism and accountability. She expects NAR to represent the association and industry with transparency and integrity.
NAR is in the process of transforming its education and events programming under new senior vice president Elizabeth Ranno, with a focus on providing agents and brokers with the tools they need to succeed. Wright emphasized the importance of continuous learning and "cross-training" in various disciplines.
Protecting the REALTOR trademark remains a key priority for NAR, with the association leveraging artificial intelligence to strengthen brand protection. Leslie Nettleford-Freeman, associate general counsel and vice president of legal affairs and brand protection, is helping NAR tap into AI technology to quickly identify and address trademark infringement.
Wright's vision for NAR is to create a "basecamp" where agents and brokers can come back to access education, tools, and resources. She believes that by providing value to the ecosystem, NAR can build trust and confidence among its members and the broader industry.
