he 2025 NYU Federal Real Estate and Partnerships Tax Conference will take place at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC from June 12-13. This year's conference will focus on the latest policy changes, rulings, and regulations impacting real estate and partnership taxation.
Attendees can expect two days of advanced-level learning designed for accountants, attorneys, and tax professionals involved in planning and transactional work related to partnerships and real estate taxation. The sessions will cover topics such as shifts in partnership asset appreciation, estate planning for real estate, and complex issues in drafting partnership agreements.
Day 1 speakers include Paul H. Wilner, CPA, Advisor at Grossberg Company; Brian J. O'Connor, Esq., Partner at Venable; Farhad Aghdami, Esq., Partner at Williams Mullen; Glenn M. Johnson, Esq., Principal at EY; and Robert D. Schachat, Esq., Managing Director at BDO USA.
Day 2 speakers will cover topics such as creative deal structures, tax planning under tax accounting methods, navigating partnership audits, and complexities in partnership debt allocations. The conference will also feature a post-luncheon address on the legislative outlook for real estate by Ryan P. McCormick, Esq., Senior Vice President and Counsel at The Real Estate Roundtable.
