The SEC filing dated September 19 confirms Freiha is leaving immediately, with Schwartz stepping in on September 30. Schwartz previously served as interim CFO from December 2022 to November 2024 and has held roles such as VP/corporate controller (August 2016–March 2021) and chief accounting officer (March 2021–May 2025). The 46‑year‑old earned degrees from UC Berkeley and the University of Virginia. Her compensation package includes a $1.2 million base salary and 400,641 restricted stock units.

    Opendoor’s leadership shuffle continues. On September 10, former Shopify COO Kaz Nejatian was named CEO, replacing Carrie Wheeler who resigned on August 15 amid activist investor pressure. Co‑founders Keith Rabois and Eric Wu have re‑joined the board. The company also announced plans to expand its service area to the entire continental United States in the coming weeks.     Blackstone announced two leadership moves on September 19 as it recovers from the July 28 shooting that claimed the life of executive Wesley M. LePatner. Katie Keenan was appointed CEO and director of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, Inc. and Global Head of the Core+ Real Estate business, succeeding LePatner. Keenan has held various Blackstone roles since 2012 and is currently CEO of Blackstone Mortgage Trust. That position will be filled by Tim Johnson, who has been with Blackstone since 2011.
