n the November general election, Ottawa County residents will choose between two candidates vying for the District 1 seat on the county Board of Commissioners: Republican Jim Barry and Democrat Danielle Smith. Both are longtime residents of the area. Barry secured his spot on the ballot by defeating incumbent Gretchen Cosby in the August primary.
