Amanda Chapa sees real estate as more than deals; it's about forging hometown connections.

A
t 26, Amanda Chapa earned her real‑estate license in September 2023 and has spent the past year navigating a fiercely competitive market. For her, the work is more than closing contracts; it’s about building relationships in her hometown of Rockport. “Real estate is always different,” she says. “One day I help a family list a home, the next I’m at a broker’s open meeting, meeting new people. Every deal teaches me something new.”

Chapa balances her growing career with family life. She is married to Dylan, owner of Roofing Solutions & Construction, and they raise a young family. Rockport must prioritize affordable housing for working families, not just tourism. “The city needs to care for the people who live here every day—waitresses, mail carriers, sanitation workers,” she notes.

She also participates in the Rockport‑Fulton Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals program, collaborating with peers to strengthen community ties. While the group offers networking, she says it also provides a chance to observe seasoned leaders in action. “It’s not formal mentorship, but seeing how community leaders make things happen is inspiring.”

For Amanda, reputation and persistence are the cornerstones of success. “Time is something you never get back, so put 100 percent into what you do,” she says. “Protecting your reputation, especially in a small town, means everything.”

Looking ahead, she sees promise in her career and for Rockport’s younger generation. Her biggest achievements so far are earning her license. “Success for me is about relationships and being proud of the life I’m building here in Rockport,” she concludes.
