Pryor Field Hangar Facility Construction Begins

$32.7 million aviation infrastructure investment to create 50 new jobs over three years.

A
leut Real Estate LLC has started construction on a $32.7 million hangar facility at Pryor Field Regional Airport in Limestone County, Alabama. This is the company's first development in the state and marks a significant investment in the region's aviation infrastructure.

The project is a joint venture between Aleut Real Estate and Strata-G Solutions, an engineering and manufacturing firm based in Huntsville. The facility will support maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations for commercial and military aircraft, including painting capabilities for large planes like the Lockheed C-130.

Limestone County has approved tax incentives worth over $1 million to help with startup costs over 10 years. In return, the project is expected to contribute slightly more than that amount to local schools during the same period.

The facility will have approximately 346,000 square feet of exterior parking and tie-down space for aircraft. Once operational, it will create 50 aviation-related positions within three years. Construction is being led by Fite Building Co., with Design Innovation Architects serving as architect. The project is expected to be completed in early 2027.

"This project showcases the kind of forward-thinking development we aim to attract to Alabama," said Ellen McNair, secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce. "It will support regional economic growth and national defense readiness."
