R
eal estate professionals traded punches at the 11th annual "Fight Night" event hosted by NAIOP Colorado in RiNo's ReelWorks event space. The sold-out crowd of around 600 people watched six bouts, including two professional fights and four amateur matches featuring industry colleagues.
The evening was sponsored by major players like Ten-X, CoStar, and LoopNet, with a USA theme evident in the red dresses worn by women and blue suits donned by men. However, the main attraction was the boxing matches, which saw intense and competitive fighting. Two bouts ended in draws, while two others were won by decision.
The event's chair, Brandon Kramer of Marcus & Millichap, said they aim for clear winners and losers but acknowledged that draws are rare at Fight Night. The evening raised an estimated $30,000 for the Denver Children's Foundation, a nonprofit group supporting disadvantaged youth, bringing the total to nearly $400,000 since the event began 11 years ago.
The amateur bouts were just as intense, with Kellan "Cash Money" Register of Catamount Constructors winning by split decision against Mercedes Morales of PMG Construction. The most physical fight came at the end, when Matt Runyon of Monfort Cos. clashed with Max Rist of Marcus & Millichap in a majority draw.
The results of the bouts were:
* Justin Gregory of SRS Real Estate Partners beat Nathan Oxman by unanimous decision.
* Tony Gervasini and Logan Kirby drew.
* Kellan Register beat Mercedes Morales by split decision.
* Matt Runyon and Max Rist ended in a majority draw.
