Real Estate Firms Make Moves: Mergers, Expansions, and New Offices

he brokerage industry is experiencing significant activity, with numerous mergers, acquisitions, and expansions across the US. In New England, Portside Real Estate Group has merged with Swan Agency Real Estate, a 50-year-old independent brokerage in Maine. The partnership brings together two woman-owned companies that share a commitment to community impact and philanthropy.

    The merger also marks the launch of Portside's new Hospitality Division, expanding its services in the inn and bed-and-breakfast market. This move follows Portside's $1.2 billion in sales over the past year and its acquisition of Lakepoint Real Estate.

    In Michigan, @properties REMI has expanded with the addition of two offices: one in Traverse City led by Molly Buttleman, a top-producing agent, and another in Clarkston, which will be run by Pam Ford Morgan and Emily Ford, a mother-daughter team. The company aims to reach $200 million in sales by 2025.

    Corcoran affiliates have merged in Texas, with Corcoran Ferester Realty joining forces with Corcoran Genesis. The combined team will operate as Corcoran Genesis, led by Nicole Freer and Doug Freer.

    RE/MAX Regional Services has grown its footprint in the Midwest with the addition of RE/MAX Central Region, a firm operating in Iowa and Nebraska. RSI now has over 4,500 agents and nearly 300 offices across nine states.

    In the Pacific Northwest, a Washington state indie formerly known as Citibrokers has joined RE/MAX, expanding its services under the brand name RE/MAX Citibrokers.

    Christie's International Real Estate Sereno has welcomed five top-producing agents in Silicon Valley, including Karen Nelsen and Stephanie Nelsen-Alanis, who have combined lifetime sales volume of over $2.5 billion.

    Other notable developments include BHGRE Haven Properties opening a new office in Monterey, California; The Brian Sperry Real Estate Group rejoining Compass after a stint with Coldwell Banker; and Realty Executives Associates expanding with the addition of Realty Executives Knox Valley in East Tennessee.

    Christie's International Real Estate has also launched a new office serving Antigua and Barbuda, led by Dominique Silvera, a 25-year local real estate veteran.
