ilverstein Properties has secured a major grocery tenant at River Place in Hell's Kitchen. Lincoln Market has signed a 20-year lease for 36,000 square feet at 660 West 42nd Street, with an asking rent of $60 per square foot. The deal was brokered by Katz & Associates on behalf of the tenant.
The new location will be one of Manhattan's largest ground-floor supermarkets if it opens as scheduled next year. Lincoln Market is also seeking sites of at least 15,000 square feet across New York City and in Bergen County, New Jersey.
Katz's Scott Shor represented the tenant, while a Cushman & Wakefield team led by Sean Moran and Steven Soutendijk represented Silverstein Properties. The River Place retail space was previously home to Lucky Strike bowling alley, which closed permanently due to the pandemic in 2021.
The lease is likely one of the biggest retail deals of the month, ranking as the third-largest in New York City in October. Lincoln Market's expansion plans suggest it may not be done growing yet.
