    A recent ranking by Realtor.com has catapulted the Rochester metropolitan area into the top 10 hottest real estate markets in the country. This surge is a significant jump from last year, when it ranked ninth.

    The "hotness" factor is calculated based on two key metrics: online views per property and days on the market. According to Realtor.com's analysis, Manchester-Nashua, New Hampshire takes the top spot, followed closely by Hartford, Connecticut; Kenosha, Wisconsin; Norwich-New London, Connecticut; and Worcester, Massachusetts.

    However, some experts question the accuracy of these rankings. The median days on the market for homes in Rochester is reportedly 53, according to Realtor.com. Yet, data from the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors reveals a stark contrast: January's median time on the market was a mere seven days, with numbers remaining below nine days for over three years.

    The discrepancy raises questions about how Realtor.com determines its median days on the market metric. Despite an inquiry, the company has yet to provide clarification on this matter.
