rad Simpson, whose wife Suzanne has been missing since October 7, faces additional charges in connection with her disappearance. James Valle Cotter, a work associate of Simpson's and owner of Cotter & Sons Inc., was also charged. The Texas Department of Public Safety had issued a CLEAR alert for Suzanne Simpson, but it was discontinued on Tuesday after the Olmos Park Police shifted their investigation to a recovery effort.

Simpson was initially arrested on October 10 on family violence charges after one of their children reported that he had hit his wife and taken her phone. He now faces charges of tampering with physical evidence and unlawful possession of a firearm. Valle Cotter, 65, has been charged with tampering with physical evidence to impede the investigation, with a bond set at $500,000.

A neighbor reported hearing Simpson and his wife arguing on October 6, followed by screams from nearby woods and Simpson's truck leaving an hour later. Simpson and Valle Cotter were also involved in a lawsuit against Cotter & Sons Inc., which resulted in a jury awarding the National Business Service $850,000 after finding them guilty of breach of contract.

Valle Cotter is under house arrest with conditions including surrendering his passport to authorities. The investigation into Suzanne Simpson's disappearance continues.
