Saxonburg's Main Street Becomes Haven for Local Real Estate Professionals

SAXONBURG — Location key in home buying, say local real estate sellers.

S
axoburg residents Joyce and Jack Hutterer have made their mark on the community through their real estate business and involvement in local organizations. As a family of five who raised their children in southeastern Butler County, they know firsthand how important location is when choosing where to live.

The couple has lived on Saxonburg's Main Street for three years, after moving from a nearby bed-and-breakfast. As real estate agents, they see the impact of new properties coming onto the market, but they continue to call this area home. They've always stayed within the Knoch School District, where their children attended school and now six of their 11 grandchildren do.

Joyce credits the sense of community in Saxonburg as one of its greatest attractions. "There's truly a sense of caring among the town and the area," she said. The couple loves being able to walk to local restaurants, shops, and events that bring people together. Their property even houses a charming boutique and an Airbnb apartment.

The Hutterers are heavily involved in the community, with Joyce serving on Saxonburg council and Jack on the historical architectural review board. They also volunteer with the Saxonburg Area Business Association and support the Knoch School District through their work with the South Butler Foundation program. With a strong family presence and a deep connection to the area, they can't imagine leaving.

"We have moved several times before this but have always stayed within the Knoch School District," Joyce said. "It would be difficult" for them to leave behind the community that has become like family to them.
