cott Turner, a pastor from Plano and former NFL player, has been chosen by President-elect Donald Trump to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This move has garnered praise from North Texas leaders, who appreciate his expertise in multifamily housing and experience in state and national politics. As a protege of former HUD Secretary Ben Carson, Turner previously worked on the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council.

    Turner's background also includes serving two terms in the Texas House of Representatives and co-founding a Christian literacy nonprofit with his wife, Robin. He is currently chief visionary officer at Dallas-based apartment developer JPI. Local leaders, such as State Rep.
