eattle's Housing Market Continues to Soar
By 2033, median home prices in Seattle are expected to hit a staggering $1.5 million, making today's prices seem like a bargain. According to an October report by Realtor.com, the city's median home price will reach nearly $1 million by 2028.
The forecast is based on data from the 100 largest U.S. metro areas between 2014 and 2019, excluding recession- and pandemic-influenced trends. Economists analyzed these trends to predict future growth over the next decade.
Seattle ranked 10th for projected price growth but holds the top spot for current median home prices at $694,000. Between 2014 and 2019, home prices jumped more than 46%. Cities like Boise, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Denver are also expected to experience rapid home price growth.
The city's housing market shows no signs of slowing down, making the cost of living increasingly unaffordable for many residents.
