eward & Kissel LLP announced that Lawrence Rouslin has joined the firm's New York office as special counsel in the Real Estate Group, bringing extensive experience in structuring and negotiating large and complex real estate transactions. Most recently with A&O Shearman LLP, Rouslin focuses on secured financings involving multiple lenders and various types of mortgage and mezzanine financings.
Rouslin represents institutional lenders in modifications, extensions, workouts, foreclosures, and deeds-in-lieu, and has a strong track record of originating secured financings for major international lenders, real estate developers, and others in the New York market. "Lawrence is highly effective in securing complex financings," said Rhona Kisch, Seward & Kissel partner and head of the Real Estate Group.
With over two decades of experience focusing on real estate financing transactions, Rouslin has represented banks and developers in acquiring and creating joint ventures in real estate vehicles. He also assists real estate funds in acquiring mezzanine loans, mortgage loans, B notes, and participations on the secondary market. "It's an honor to join Seward & Kissel," said Rouslin, who received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Brown University.
