T
wo developers from Central Texas are teaming up on a new residential project in northwest San Antonio that will offer an alternative to traditional single-family homes. Metropolitan Development Company, based in Austin, and Agave Land & Development, based in San Antonio, have partnered on the Gabriella, a 146-unit condo complex at 10225 Braun Road. Construction is set to begin next summer.
Located on an 8-acre site near Helotes, the development aims to fill a gap in the area's housing market by providing low-maintenance living options. The condos will feature one- to three-bedroom units ranging from 460 to 1,500 square feet, with high-end finishes like Bosch appliances and ceilings up to 11 feet high. Prices are expected to start in the low $200,000s, with HOA fees ranging from $200 to $600 monthly.
The development will include amenities such as a fitness center, co-working spaces, a dog wash station, and outdoor features like biking trails and a saltwater pool on 4 acres of land. James Nichols, managing partner of Agave, plans to call The Gabriella home when it's completed. The project is slated for completion in 2027, with the first units set to go live 18 months after construction begins.
If successful, Metropolitan Development principal Pawel Hardej plans to build more condo projects in the area. San Antonio has a strong market for single-family homes, but this development aims to cater to those seeking alternative living options.
