T
aylor Swift is giving her Rhode Island mansion a major makeover, aiming to turn it into the primary residence for herself and boyfriend Travis Kelce once they start a family. The singer has allocated $1.7 million for renovations at the $17 million Watch Hill estate.

According to building permits and zoning certificates, the overhaul will include a 400-square-foot expansion of the home's bedroom suite and lounge, as well as a new bedroom and full kitchen remodel. This is part of a larger plan to expand the property in anticipation of starting a family with Kelce.

The renovation plans were quietly filed in November and December 2024, with construction set to be completed by December 2025. The building permit was officially granted on January 13, but with a note stating that work cannot proceed until an inspector has approved each stage of the project.

Swift's Rhode Island mansion, situated on over 5 acres of manicured gardens and featuring a private beach, has long been her go-to getaway. The property has hosted numerous star-studded Fourth of July bashes and intimate gatherings with friends and family, including NFL players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

The Grammy-winning singer purchased the eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate in 2013 for $17.75 million, reportedly drawn to its proximity to ex-boyfriend Conor Kennedy's family compound. However, she officially moved into the home with her father, Scott Swift, after splitting from Kennedy in May 2013.

Swift and Kelce have been spotted at the property together on several occasions, including a summer gathering that also featured NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany. The couple has not publicly confirmed their plans to start a family, but insiders suggest that the renovations are part of a larger effort to make the mansion their primary residence.
