California-based nonprofit has sold a Tempe church property for $1.1 million to the Beaumont family, according to a recent press release from NAI Horizon's Church Realty Solutions. The buyers plan to repurpose the 4,467-square-foot property, located near Hardy Drive and 11th Street, while preserving some of its original elements.
The former site of New Beginnings in Christ Wesleyan Church will be transformed into three environmentally sensitive residential housing units. The new owners aim to minimize their impact on the environment by using reclaimed materials for construction. This approach is a departure from traditional development methods, which often involve high-density housing and demolition of existing structures.
"We're not scraping the property to build high-density housing," said Thomas Smith, senior vice president at NAI Horizon's Church Realty Solutions. "Instead, we're creating unique residential units that showcase exposed aged timber beams and classic heavy bolt placements."
