eal estate expert Mitch Roschelle believes the days of selling six million homes per year are over for good. As Managing Director of Madison Ventures, which finances real estate investments nationwide, Roschelle has seen the national market boom and bust. In a recent appearance on Fox Business' Varney & Co., he discussed the current housing market data, which shows America is on track to sell 4.15 million homes this year. This number is significantly lower than the six million homes sold annually in the past.
Roschelle thinks this new level of sales is the "new normal" for the housing market and will persist for a long time. He's also skeptical that lower interest rates will spark a resurgence, saying relying on them to boost sales is a "fool's errand." Roschelle believes there won't be a return to the days of two and three percent interest rates, so people need to adapt to the current market conditions.
The slowdown in the housing market has significant implications for real estate professionals. Realtors are likely feeling the pinch as sales dwindle, but Roschelle sees this as an opportunity for dedicated professionals to separate themselves from the competition. He believes that those who truly work with their customers and create value will thrive in this new market environment.
