roadway legend Tommy Tune has cut the price of his Manhattan penthouse by almost $1 million. The Sutton Place unit, once listed at $2.9 million, now asks $2.15 million, down from $2.2 million in 2022. Located at 400 E 52nd St, the 900‑sq‑ft, one‑bedroom, one‑bath penthouse features a 1,800‑sq‑ft wrap‑around terrace overlooking the East River and city skyline, complete with an outdoor shower. Inside, a soaring 13‑foot great room, large picture windows, an open chef’s kitchen, and a loft‑style bedroom with a windowed bath and a soaking tub that frames the Chrysler Building. The penthouse, known as “the Tower,” has long been a venue for Tune’s lavish parties, including a celebrated soirée for Carol Channing that drew over 200 Broadway friends. The 86‑year‑old, 6‑foot‑6 tap‑dancing icon and 10‑Tony‑winner, has also painted more than 100 works of art, many displayed in the space.
Tune purchased the unit in 2007 for about $1.3 million. He also owns a second one‑bedroom penthouse with a wrap‑terrace at 414 E 52nd St, which was listed for $2.3 million before being withdrawn last year. The current listing is handled by Joan Billick and John Gasdaska of Douglas Elliman.
