L
ennar, a Miami-based developer, plans to build 260 townhomes on over 16 acres in Torrance. The project, dubbed Fashion Square at Del Amo, would replace commercial buildings and a parking lot near the Del Amo Fashion Center mall. Designed by KTGY and Woodley Architectural Group, the complex will feature 37 four- and five-story buildings with ground-floor garages, inset balconies, and parapet roofs.
The townhomes, ranging from two to four bedrooms, will have mustard-colored doors and accents for visual appeal. Landscaping will cover a quarter of the site, including a private park and a central courtyard. Construction is expected to take 41 months if approved.
This project is part of Lennar's larger plans for housing in the area, which also include a recently completed senior complex and a proposed 200-unit apartment complex next door. Founded in 1954, Lennar has built over 1 million homes across 26 states.
