yndon Wiggins, 40, faces a jury trial for allegedly planning the kidnapping and murder of Minneapolis realtor Monique Baugh, 28, mother of two. Convicted of aiding and abetting Baugh’s shooting in 2019, the verdict was overturned by the Supreme Court over flawed jury instructions. Prosecutors say a dispute over a record deal with Baugh’s boyfriend led Wiggins to lure her to a home showing, where she was abducted, loaded into a U‑Haul truck, shot, and later found in a Minneapolis alley with her hands bound in duct tape.
Cedric Berry and Berry Davis received life sentences for the kidnapping and killing. Wiggins’ girlfriend, Elsa Segura, accepted a plea deal and is serving 20 years, admitting to calling Baugh. A jury was selected in a week; opening statements begin Oct. 14.
