US President to Visit Doha Amid Trump Organization's Luxury Real Estate Venture

Trump to visit Gulf state, bypassing US allies Israel, Egypt and Turkey for business deal on villas and golf course.

T
he Trump Organization has secured a deal to build a luxury golf resort in Qatar, featuring beachside villas and an 18-hole golf course. The project, called Trump International Golf Club Simaisma, marks the president's first real-estate venture in Qatar since his return to the White House.

Qatari Diar, a state-owned company, will develop the resort alongside Dar Global, a Saudi Arabian partner. This partnership has raised eyebrows given President Trump's recent criticism of Qatari funding for Ivy League universities in the US.

The deal comes as President Trump prepares to visit Qatar during his upcoming Middle East trip, bypassing traditional US allies such as Israel, Egypt, and Turkey. The move has sparked questions about the president's priorities and potential conflicts of interest.

This is not the first time the Trump Organization has faced criticism for its business dealings abroad. The company has been accused of engaging in "pay-to-play" diplomacy, with several lawsuits filed against the administration alleging violations of the emoluments clause of the US Constitution.

The Trump Organization has also maintained a significant stake in Truth Social, a social media platform that allows President Trump to financially benefit from traffic to his postings. Additionally, the family has a financial interest in a cybercurrency trading platform, which has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest.
