ayu Global Health Foundation has relocated its headquarters from Cambridge to Medford, Massachusetts. The nonprofit has taken up residence in a 2,500-square-foot facility on Cummings Properties' Boston Avenue innovation campus.
Founded in 2018, Vayu aims to address global healthcare challenges through sustainable solutions. Its team partners with governments and healthcare organizations worldwide to deliver research-based treatment systems and training to clinicians in under-resourced areas.
Vayu's current initiative, "Breathing for Babies," seeks to reduce child mortality by integrating a low-cost pediatric oxygen delivery system globally. The nonprofit has expanded rapidly, increasing its workforce from a few full-time employees to over 12 staff members.
Cummings Properties' Senior Leasing Director Rob Yacobian worked closely with Vayu's executive director Stephanie Hansel and co-founder Dr. Thomas Burke on the lease. "Vayu is at a critical juncture in its growth," said Yacobian, noting that Cummings Properties can support the organization's continued evolution.
The Medford campus offers convenient amenities, including free parking, highway access, and proximity to public transit, eateries, and shops. Vayu collaborates with international partners, thought leaders, and faculty from top institutions like Harvard, MIT, and Massachusetts General Hospital to develop cost-efficient healthcare solutions that can be scaled globally.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Vayu supports efforts to identify and build sustainable solutions to intractable health challenges.
