Venu to Develop $300M McKinney Amphitheater Project

Venu Holding Corporation secures 46 acres in McKinney for $300 million amphitheater development.

V
enu Holding Corporation has acquired nearly 50 acres in McKinney for a $300 million amphitheater project. The Colorado-based company, led by founder and CEO J.W. Roth, purchased the land near US Route 75 and State Highway 121 from the McKinney Economic Development Corporation. While financial terms were not disclosed, the property's taxable value was assessed at $22.1 million.

The Sunset Amphitheater will feature 20,000 seats, 300 fire pit suites, and 5,100 parking spaces. The venue will also include a members-only space called The Aikman Club, in partnership with NFL hall-of-famer Troy Aikman. Construction is set to begin this spring, with the amphitheater expected to host major events after its anticipated 2026 completion.

The project is part of a larger development plan for McKinney, which includes other major projects such as Cannon Beach, a $200 million surf park, and Eldorado Neighborhood Shops, a $27 million shopping center. Officials estimate that the amphitheater will attract up to 700,000 visitors annually, driving significant economic growth in the region.
