ilton's latest statement on the reopening of the iconic Waldorf-Astoria hotel seemed reassuring in October: a spring 2025 opening was set, and that would be the final delay. However, last week's announcement that online room reservations would go live on December 10 appeared to back up this claim.
The site did indeed launch, but with an unexpected twist: the earliest available reservation date is September 1, not in the spring as initially promised. This discrepancy has raised questions about whether the reopening target has been pushed back once again.
A Hilton spokesperson clarified that the hotel will start accepting reservations for spring dates near its opening time. The Waldorf's brasserie-style restaurant, Lex Yard, led by Gramercy Tavern chef Michael Anthony, is still on track to open in the spring of 2025.
