Developers Reuven and Iris Herssein sell Surfside waterfront mansion for record $19.8 million.

R
euven and Iris Herssein have sold their waterfront mansion in Surfside for a record-breaking $19.8 million. The 9,600-square-foot, seven-bedroom home at 9208 Bay Drive was purchased by AH 9208 Bay Drive LLC, tied to Atlanta-based software CEO Greg Benoit of QGenda. This sale surpasses the previous single-family home price record in Surfside, set last year with a $15.3 million trade.

The Hersseins' property, which closed on Wednesday, was listed for $22.5 million and features an impressive array of amenities, including a 25-foot waterfall entrance, infinity edge pool, rooftop terrace, and custom millwork. Reuven Herssein built the home, designed by his wife, who also selected the stone elements.

The couple paid $2.2 million for the quarter-acre lot in 2021 and has developed two other waterfront homes in Surfside, including one that set records for single-family home sales when it sold for $8.5 million in 2021. The Hersseins are now looking to find their next luxury development opportunity.

This sale is part of a larger trend in South Florida's residential market, where contracts reached $164M last week in Miami-Dade, led by this Surfside deal. In the oceanfront market, condos have traded for higher prices in Surfside, with records set for price per foot at the Four Seasons Residences and Hotel at the Surf Club.
