A
public hearing is scheduled for November 6, 2024, in West Bend, WI, regarding a proposal to change the land use and zoning of 34 acres north of CTH NN and east of 18th Avenue. The proposed development would be a 90+ unit housing project.
According to Jim Reinke with Community Development, the current business park designation is outdated for the area. "We're looking at changing this to single-family residential," he said, citing nearby residential developments as justification. The proposal also includes a zoning amendment from industrial to RS4 single-family residential.
Town of West Bend Chairman Troy Zagel expressed surprise that the town was not informed about the proposal, which was reportedly expected to be used for industrial development. Alderman Brett Bergquist also stated that he was unaware of the scope of the housing project until after the October plan commission meeting.
The proposed zoning change and comprehensive plan amendment will be discussed at a public hearing on November 6, 2024.
